Occlusal Adjustment

Occlusal Adjustment

Do you wake up in the morning with a sore jaw or feel like your bite feels different?

If so, you may need an occlusal adjustment. This simple procedure may correct the alignment of the bite that has changed due to clenching or grinding the teeth. Sometimes the bite is not properly aligned due to teeth that have shifted, crowded, or may be missing.

Sometimes the bite requires clear aligner therapy (like Invisalign) and other times it may require a removable mouth piece, called a night guard, to protect the tooth surfaces and relax the jaw muscles.

Technology, like T-scan, uses a bite sensor and software to identify areas which need adjustment. This data is so accurate it allows the dentist to make the adjustment in the proper locations.

If you feel your bite has changed and an adjustment may be helpful, we can help.
